WHO WE ARE
As a creative scientific agency, we’re on a mission to bring attention and recognition to those who want to make the world a better place through science. Our ambition is driven by close and meaningful partnerships with our clients, with whom we share a rigorous and passionate understanding of the power of science.
Founded in 2017, based in Lisbon, Portugal, and with a team of 14 (both scientists and designers), we are now looking for a project manager who is also able to execute some communication tasks.
Do you want to join us?
THE POSITION
The focus of this Project Manager position is to manage and execute the communication tasks of Horizon Europe projects, which includes interacting with several international partners at once, attend project meetings (a couple of travels are expected per year, within Europe), as well as present and defend Science Crunchers ideas and work towards the consortia partners.
Additionally, the Project Manager will manage and execute diverse science communication projects for other clients, such as Universities, NGOs, private companies, and other entities that, just like us, have science in their core.
YOUR PROFILE
We are looking for a dynamic, curious, engaged team-player, and agile individual who can adapt to an environment with multiple and fast-paced communication projects. Being a fast learner, with a drive to add value, contributing to our companies’ growth and to your self-development, are also important features.
In addition, we are looking for someone who enjoys learning and writing about various scientific topics and, at the same time, is able to become a Science Cruncher: combining critical thinking and intuition, in order to synthesize and crunch down complex scientific information, is key to prepare good contents for our design team.
Minimum requirements
- Degree in sciences (preferably a PhD degree) within the zootechnical/animal, veterinary, marine biology/oceanography or biological sciences. While a degree in these areas is not mandatory, your work will be focused on these core areas and not on life sciences;
- Evidence of solid project management skills;
- Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills;
- Proven record in converting scientific documents into engaging narratives that can be communicated to different audiences (scientific, technical, stakeholders, general audience);
- Fluency and proficiency in English;
- Fiscal residency in Portugal.
Also valued
- 2-3 years of professional experience outside research in Academia, after finishing your sciences degree;
- Previous experience managing the communication plan and implementing outreach outputs of large long-lasting international projects (with multiple partners), namely EU FP7, H2020, Horizon Europe, or similar.
